Yes, I said it. Surfboard fins should be at the rear of your auto when on roof racks. I know it sounds crazy but it's true. It's a fact. Nose points where you're going.
I believe it truly is. Aerodynamic going with nature. Try surfing backwards and you'll pull a 180. The false theory is the straps will grab the fins as the board blows away... The answer is secure your straps and have less wind force pushing your board. It's natures way, don't fight it.
